National Day of Prayer – “Revival Cries at Trade & Tryon” – Thursday, May 7, 2015

Prayer warriors bit by bit gathered at Trade & Tryon starting at 7:00 pm to participate in the National Day of Prayer. The gathering was sponsored by United Prayer (Scott Jensen) and hosted by Paul Gentilini of Go Bear Fruit/Uptown Worship Nights. We immediately saw the Lord’s hand in wanting to simply hear our hearts that night as we could not get any of the sound equipment to work. All the power lights were on but no sound. So we gathered around at the beginning with literally just 2 or 3 and the Lord’s presence showed up in our midst. (Paul confirmed that an equipment check later that night was completely successful.)

Unhindered, undistracted and unplugged

Unhindered and undistracted we went forth “unplugged”.  Throughout the night, Paul read Proverbs 3 adding in “Charlotte”, “North Carolina” and “America,” as we cried out for a heart awakening!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body
and strength for your bones.

Prov 3:5-8 (NLT)

Cries of Repentance and for Awakening

We stood in a place of repentance for our nation, state and city as we asked the Lord’s forgiveness for racism, abortion, compromise, pride, haughtiness, greed, our independence from God, our self-reliance,  and for past acts such as allowing prayer to be taken out of schools and allowing the Indian removal act to come forth with the Trail of Tears that began in Murphy, NC.

And we cried out for an awakening in the churches throughout our territory, for true worship to come forth (Tabernacle of David), for our individual and corporate prayer life to be revived, for the 5-fold ministry to take its place, and we sang to Holy Spirit to come and be supreme in all things! We worshiped the Lord through “Bless the Lord, O my Soul” and declaring “How Great is Our God”, and we also cried out for souls through singing “Come to Me”.  As more folks gathered from college groups to local & house churches, to other ministries, to the homeless community, all representing many races and the generations, prophetic songs sprung forth “I trust in Your Name” as well as groanings & spiritual songs.

Prophetic Signs for the Land of Firsts

One of the watchmen noticed a nearby plaque that had a decree about Charlotte being the cradle and birthplace of liberty and added in that the new royal baby’s name being Charlotte were prophetic signs for our city and our nation as our state is a land of many firsts – Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, the revival in Murphy NC that was 10 years before Azusa and the Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk. So we prayed again for our state and our nation using Proverbs 3.

Decrees & Declarations

We further decreed blessings on Israel as well as other Glory decrees for a transformed city and transformed lives. For lions and lionesses to arise, for dreams and visions to increase, for joy to be unleashed. We decreed no poverty, no hunger, no homelessness, no abortion, no sex trafficking but instead righteous government, righteous businesses, salvations, healing, deliverance, signs, wonders and miracles!

We prayed for leaders in churches, businesses, and education. We prayed for law enforcement including firemen. Several alarms had gone off throughout the night as well as fire engines and police with sirens blaring had periodically rolled by. So we decreed that as a spiritual sign of new sounds be released, new alarms of awakening going off, and new fire & new authority being released!

So be it Lord!
