June/July 2015 – Glory Rising in Haiti!

At the Lord’s prompting, I (Yvonne) returned to Haiti with Pastor Stephanie Stevens and the team from Harvest Time Christian Fellowship (Philadelphia). About midway through the flight from Miami to Port-au-Prince, I could tangibly feel the Lord’s Presence and I sensed that we had passed into the Lord’s Glory realm. Aaahhh,  great things were awaiting us in Haiti!

Connecting with MHJ and SUNY Broome

As soon as we got through the Haitian Immigration area, we ran into Gina and Lorraine from Missionaries of the Heart of the Jesus along with the  team from SUNY Broome’s Health for Haiti. What fun! Stephanie, Gina and our faithful Dan Eppley had orchestrated the two mission trips to overlap in key places. Two of those places included MHJ’s orphanage in Port au Prince and their medical clinic in Carrefour Feuilles. In both places, the team was able to minister in worship and prayers for  healing, deliverance and  salvation – Go Jesus!

Old and new connections leading to new assignments

Leogane – Lespri Haiti Mission – Love Orphans, Touch Communities, Transform Haiti

Elaine Rensink is an inspiration! She is founder of Lespri Haiti Mission, which is unique in its approach and style.  Elaine has adopted six beautiful children and daily transforms their lives as well as those of the community around her. She has even just opened an elementary school.

While we visited her, we had opportunity to go out into the streets of Difort to minister healing, deliverance and salvation.

Then back at her artistically colorful home, we had a glorious meal of both natural and spiritual food as we ended our time together in worship and prayer. Leogane is considered to be the epicenter of the 2010 earthquake so on our next mission trip, we plan to prayer walk key areas and check in on Elaine’s school.

Grande Saline

Before even arriving at our new place for lodging (Mission of Mercy Ministries – Dr. Ken & Andrea Taylor), we ran into Dr. Robinson (who is an integral part of several  of MHJ’s medical clinics) – first at the supermarket, then at the Mother Teresa Children’s Hospital the next day, and then as scheduled at the clinic at Carrefour Feuilles. In the midst of those encounters, Dr. Robinson shared his vision for an elementary school for the children at Grande Saline. Grande Saline is the town in which SUNY Broome faculty installed a water treatment system that literally has transformed the living conditions there. Hope has been restored and simultaneously a vision for the future has been birthed:

Now there is a need for teachers

Dr. Robinson has helped orchestrate the building of school space in Grande Saline with funding from Dr. Jen of SUNY Broome, and Dan  has been able to secure  some laptops from Dr. Jen. But now  the teachers must be trained!

Sowing worship, prophetic declarations and practical support into the Education Mountain are essential dynamics to bring restoration to fruition in Haiti.  Please consider sowing into the future of Haiti. RHM has already sent funds to train the first teacher but Dr. Robinson’s plan requires a total of five teachers and the training is a three-year program.

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commmandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children.
